Xiaomi has confirmed the upcoming launch of the Xiaomi 17 Max in China this month. This new model will join the flagship Xiaomi 17 series, which already features the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the premium Xiaomi 17 Ultra. In the lead-up to its release, Xiaomi has showcased the phone's design, screen size, and available colors. Positioned above the base Xiaomi 17, the 17 Max promises significant enhancements.

Teasers posted by Xiaomi on Weibo highlight a spacious 6.9-inch flat screen with narrow bezels. The phone sports a rounded rectangular camera array, distinct from the expansive circular module on the 17 Ultra. Images confirm color options in black, blue, and white.

Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing called the Xiaomi 17 Max a "fully upgraded" iteration of the standard Xiaomi 17, going beyond mere size increase.

Pre-orders for the Xiaomi 17 Max have opened in China in anticipation of its launch.

Xiaomi 17 Max Expected Specifications

Leaks suggest the 6.9-inch display is a 1.5K LTPO panel supporting 120Hz refresh rates. Additional features may include dual symmetrical stereo speakers, strong water resistance, and an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor.

Powering the device is likely Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, combined with LPDDR5x memory and UFS 4.1 storage. The camera system is rumored to center on a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP main sensor, accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom.

The Xiaomi 17 Max could pack an impressive 8,000mAh battery - the biggest yet for any Xiaomi phone. It may support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging with PPS.
