Vivo has introduced the G5i and G5z smartphones in China. The two devices feature the same hardware specifications, design language and memory options, with differences limited to branding only. They run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and include a 7200mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging. Key highlights encompass a 120Hz LCD display, a 50-megapixel rear camera setup, IP68 and IP69 certifications, plus military-grade durability approval. Both models are offered in one colour variant at launch.

Vivo G5i, Vivo G5z Price, Availability

The Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z share the same storage configurations. The 6GB plus 128GB version is listed at CNY 2199 (approximately Rs. 30900), whereas the 8GB plus 256GB edition is priced at CNY 2899 (approximately Rs. 40700). Both handsets are available in Obsidian Black through the Vivo China online store.

The Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z include a 6.75-inch LCD panel offering 1570 by 720 pixel resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and touch sampling up to 240Hz. The screen supports a 19.6 to 9 aspect ratio, 256ppi density, 1500 to 1 contrast ratio and 83 percent NTSC colour coverage.

Both devices are driven by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset fabricated on a 4nm node, paired with an Adreno 613 graphics processor. They support up to 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phones launch with OriginOS 6 on Android 16 and integrate Vivo's Blue Heart Little V assistant offering voice, suggestion and scanning capabilities.

In the camera department, the Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z feature a lone 50-megapixel rear sensor with autofocus, f/1.8 aperture and up to 10x digital zoom. An 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.05 aperture allows up to 2x digital zoom. Both cameras capture video at up to 1080p, though optical and electronic stabilisation are unavailable.

Audio capabilities on the Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z comprise stereo dual speakers. Connectivity features cover 5G support, dual nano-SIM, Wi-Fi Display, MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, USB Type-C and OTG functionality. An infrared remote control is also included.

The Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z house a 7200mAh typical battery with a rated capacity of 7060mAh. They enable 44W wired fast charging, remain compatible with 33W and 22.5W standards, and offer OTG reverse charging. Security options include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and Face Wake facial recognition. The devices carry IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings along with five-star drop and shock resistance certification. They utilise a plastic middle frame and composite back panel, measure 166.64 by 78.43 by 8.39mm and weigh 219g.
