A four-hour documentary focused on Elon Musk is facing fresh obstacles on social media, as TikTok has suspended the film's advertising account.

Bleecker Street, the distributor, learned from TikTok that the account faced a permanent suspension tied to its political content, according to The Hollywood Reporter. TechCrunch has sought comment from TikTok on the matter.

Promotional ads for the trailer of Musk, directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney, were first turned down by Meta and YouTube before those platforms reversed course. Meta attributed the initial rejection to an error. Gibney noted that international distributor Universal had paused release plans for Musk but has since decided to proceed.

X, owned by Musk, declined to run ads for the film. TikTok operations in the United States are partly owned by Larry Ellison, who shares Musk's support for President Donald Trump.

Musk debuted in four theaters last weekend and is expanding to additional locations. The film is slated to stream on HBO next year, now under Paramount Skydance and led by Ellison's son David.
