Telegram has rolled out a fresh update to its messaging service, introducing several innovative tools. Among these is a sophisticated Rich Text Editor designed for crafting well-formatted messages, now accessible to Premium subscribers. Additionally, the platform now supports Telegram Communities, enabling better organization of various groups and channels. The update further incorporates ephemeral messages from bots within group chats and broadens the GIF search capabilities to include over 350 million options.

Enhanced Messaging Capabilities

In an official announcement, Telegram highlighted the Rich Text Editor's functionalities. Users can now incorporate headings, tables, lists, quotes, and code blocks into their messages. The editor also permits embedding images and videos inline. This new tool works seamlessly with Telegram's AI features powered by Cocoon.

The Rich Text Editor supports messages containing as many as 32,768 characters. Access to this capability is limited to Telegram Premium users at present.

The Communities feature helps in structuring related groups, channels, and bots under common themes. Participants can easily discover and join associated discussions. Community chats may be configured as visible to all or hidden, restricting access to administrators and members only.

Admins retain control over who can add new chats to the community via settings adjustments.

Ephemeral Bot Messages represent another addition, extending the guest bot functionality. Bots operating in groups can dispatch messages that appear exclusively to individual users, such as welcome notes, personalized AI insights, error notifications, and verifications. These messages can be sent proactively or triggered by commands marked with a distinct icon in the bot menu, ensuring privacy for the recipient and the bot.

Moreover, the GIF collection has been significantly enlarged, now offering more than 350 million GIFs in 36 languages. All GIF searches on Telegram are conducted privately, according to the company.
