Samsung plans to update its premium tablet range later this year via the Galaxy Tab S12 series. Although the company has not shared an official release schedule, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has now shown up on a performance testing platform that highlights its main hardware details and test results. The device in question is listed with MediaTek's top-tier Dimensity processor. It may include no less than 12GB of memory and could operate on Android 17.

A yet-to-be-announced Samsung tablet with model number SM-X946B has been found in the Geekbench records. Although the entry does not name the device, its model number matches closely with the prior Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra that carried the identifier SM-X936B. This suggests the listed unit is likely the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra.

The Geekbench record shows a processor setup with one top-tier core, three high-performance cores, and four power-saving cores. The chip hits a maximum speed of 4.21GHz, while the efficiency cores top out at 2.70GHz. These traits match MediaTek's flagship Dimensity 9500, eliminating recent Qualcomm Snapdragon options.

The benchmarking platform identifies the tablet as using a MediaTek MT6993 processor. This identifier aligns with MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chip. It is an eight-core design built on ARMv8 architecture starting at a 2.70GHz base clock. The layout reportedly includes one prime core at 4.21GHz, three performance cores at 3.50GHz, and four efficiency cores limited to the 2.70GHz base.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra may come with roughly 10.75GB of memory, which could be sold as 12GB. The device is shown running Android 17 and will probably launch with One UI 9, the software version that arrived with the newest Galaxy Z foldables last month.

Test results from the Samsung tablet offer insight into expected performance levels. On the Geekbench 7.0.0 Android AArch64 test, it achieved 2,424 points in single-core mode and 8,446 points in multi-core mode.

Earlier reports indicate Samsung may apply minor design tweaks to the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. Images suggest a hole-punch opening for the front camera along with narrower borders around the screen.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ had already appeared in the IMEI registry, hinting that its debut might be near. Although Samsung has not set a firm launch date, earlier models in the line arrived in September 2025.
