The Redmi 17C 5G looks ready to launch as the next model after the Redmi 15C 5G. Although the Xiaomi sub-brand has stayed quiet on timing, the handset turned up on Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission site, indicating a worldwide release is close. Its listing on the Bureau of Indian Standards site also signals an India debut ahead. Reports point to the Redmi 17C 5G running the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset.

The unreleased Redmi 17C 5G showed on the NBTC site under model number 2607FRNEAG and certification B38499-26. The G at the end of the model number usually marks a global variant, while the 2607 prefix suggests a July 2026 release window.

The NBTC record lists GSM, WCDMA, LTE and NR support. The entry notes that the phone is built in China.

Additionally, as noted by 91Mobiles, the Redmi 17C 5G appeared on the BIS site with model number 2607FRNEAI. The July 20 BIS record offers no hardware specifics yet it confirms the device is completing regulatory checks for India.

A recent Geekbench entry indicated the Redmi 17C 5G will use a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. The device scored 729 in single-core and 1,692 in multi-core tests.

The Redmi 17C 5G is expected to include a 6.9-inch HD LCD display, a 50-megapixel main rear camera plus a depth sensor, an 8-megapixel front camera and a 6,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
