Gunnar Hellekson, VP and general manager of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, stated in his keynote: "This is a no-cost operating system - free as in beer and free as in freedom. Support for the OS will be available via your RHEL subscription."

Hosted by the Fedora Project, it enables anonymous, agent-initiated pulls for rapid deployment. It eliminates registration barriers that hinder AI experimentation, matching Red Hat's vision for the "instant-on" demands of agentic computing.

Delivered via an AI-augmented software factory with human oversight, it inherits automation from Red Hat Hardened Images. It includes languages, runtimes, databases, and tools free of known vulnerabilities, complete with comprehensive software bills of materials.
