Pova 8 arrived in India on Thursday as the follow-up to last year's Pova 7. Offered in three color choices and two RAM plus storage variants, the smartphone includes a customizable Alive Matrix Display on the back panel that can show alerts from different apps. It runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset with up to 8GB RAM and carries a 6.76-inch screen supporting a 144Hz refresh rate. An 8000mAh battery powers the device alongside a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel main sensor.

In India the Pova 8 starts at Rs. 29,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at Rs. 31,999. Color options include 16 Bit White, Plasma Orange and Terminal Green.

Running Tecno HiOS 16 based on Android 16, the Pova 8 sports a 6.76-inch full-HD+ (1080 by 2344 pixels) IPS panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone achieves a 91.29 percent screen-to-body ratio, 381ppi pixel density, peak brightness of 950 nits in high brightness mode and a 1500Hz touch sampling rate.

Inside, an octa-core 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor works with a Mali-G610 MC2 GPU. Memory choices cover 6GB or 8GB LPDDR5x RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, plus dedicated G1 and SE1 signal chips.

The rear camera system uses a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 main sensor together with a light sensor, while the front camera is a 13-megapixel unit. Supported modes include AI CAM, Portrait, Super Night, Time-lapse, Dual Video, Vlog, and Slow Motion.

The handset carries MIL-STD-810H certification and an IP64 dust and splash rating. A 14689 sq mm cooling system helps manage heat during gaming sessions. The Alive Matrix Display on the rear provides customizable notification alerts.

An 8000mAh battery supports 45W fast charging and is rated for up to 1198.1 hours of standby, 39.5 hours of calls and 17.77 hours of video playback. Dimensions are 165.66 by 78.46 by 8.8mm and weight is 225g.
