Motorola has updated its Edge lineup for 2026 with a focus on reduced weight in the new model. At just 160 grams, the device undercuts both Apple's iPhone Air at 165 grams and Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge at 163 grams while still packing a triple camera setup that features a dedicated telephoto lens. The rear cameras consist of a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto unit offering 3x optical zoom. A 50-megapixel camera also sits on the front above the 6.3-inch display.

At the $600 price point, this combination of a capable camera system and low weight stands out as a strong value. By comparison, the prior Edge model weighed 181 grams and featured a larger 6.7-inch curved display.

The new $600 asking price represents a modest $50 increase from last year's version, aligning with broader industry trends toward higher costs. However, several cutbacks relative to the previous model make the adjustment feel less justified. Storage drops to 128GB from 256GB, and this configuration appears costly next to rivals at the same price such as Google's Pixel 10A, Apple's iPhone 17E, and Motorola's own Moto G Stylus, each of which offers 256GB storage.

The Edge occupies an uneasy position among competitors. Its camera capabilities and reduced mass are appealing at this cost, but the limited storage could fill quickly for users who capture many images. Hands-on testing will clarify whether the overall design and photo performance provide enough distinction, though additional storage would likely appeal to most buyers even at the expense of the 3x zoom feature.

Additional specifications include 60-watt wired charging, which is speedy in this segment, along with 15-watt wireless charging and a 5,000-mAh battery. Power comes from the MediaTek 7450 processor, matching the chipset in Motorola's $800 Razr for 2026.

The Motorola Edge becomes available starting June 11.
