Square Enix's newest mainline action-RPG arrives on the service shortly after the developer revealed Final Fantasy VII Revelation at Summer Game Fest. Additional titles heading to the catalogue include Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Sonic X Shadow Generations, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, and others.

The fresh PS Plus Game Catalogue games become available starting June 16 across most territories. A few selections will arrive on alternate dates in the US, UK, and Japan. Final Fantasy XVI arrives in the Game Catalogue this month. The RPG first launched as a PS5 exclusive in 2023 before expanding to PC and Xbox Series S/X. Players explore political tensions on the made-up continent of Valisthea, where six realms compete for dominance over magical crystals that power all strength and sorcery in the setting.

You play as Clive Rosfield, a young royal pulled into the wide-ranging struggle while forging bonds and facing rivals amid changing allegiances reminiscent of Game of Thrones. Final Fantasy XVI blends rapid melee combat with enormous Eikon battles that heighten the scope of each encounter. The RPG is accessible to PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium subscribers on PS5.

Another highly regarded RPG reaches Game Catalogue on June 16 with Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Fantasy elements are absent here, with no dragons, beasts, or enchanted crystals. Instead the title emphasizes a realistic medieval RPG journey. KCD showcases believable and detailed settlements, pursuits, surroundings, and fighting. Its first-person melee system and carefully crafted optional tasks highlight the game's commitment to precision.

You take on the role of Henry of Skalitz, the awkward offspring of a blacksmith who becomes entangled in broader events. Sega's platform adventure Sonic X Shadow Generations also joins the Game Catalogue this month. Launched in 2024, the release offers two concurrent storylines: a refreshed version of Sonic Generations alongside a fresh narrative centered on Shadow the Hedgehog.

Viewpoints alternate between side-scrolling platform sections and full-3D action while racing through complex stages at high speed. Beyond platforming trials, players confront bosses as Shadow en route to a showdown with Black Doom. Sonic X Shadow Generations is playable for PS Plus members on both PS4 and PS5.

Game Catalogue further includes Life is Strange: Double Exposure this month, arriving soon after the next entry, Life is Strange: Reunion, debuted. Double Exposure brings back series favorite Max Caulfield as the photographer-in-residence at Caledon University. Now older, Max uncovers fresh abilities that let her shift between two timelines.

With these new powers she works to solve the killing of a close companion. Like prior Life is Strange entries the narrative unfolds across chapters with emphasis on characters and bonds. Life is Strange: Double Exposure is offered on PS5.
