Verification work often stays invisible until delays arise. Regulators issue permits, buyers pay premiums, and investors commit funds only after claims receive confirmation. For years this process relied on manual reviews of partial evidence with broad assumptions filling gaps. London-based Isometric has secured $40 million to demonstrate that comprehensive checks can replace those assumptions.

The Series A round was led by AVP, formerly AXA Venture Partners, with AXA as a key backer. Prior supporters Lowercarbon Capital and Plural participated again, joined by individual investments from Kleiner Perkins chairman John Doerr and investor Walter Kortschak. The company plans to use the capital to strengthen its certification tools and expand into broader industrial markets estimated by BCG at roughly $350 billion.

Its Certify platform deploys AI agents to process and verify millions of data points supporting each claim. Inputs range from sensor outputs and satellite images to supply records and laboratory findings. The system identifies inconsistencies and highlights items needing human review.

Traditional auditors examined limited samples. Isometric offers complete monitoring at all hours while reserving expert input for complex decisions.

Isometric developed its methods in carbon removal, where buyers seek assurance that credits represent genuine impact. The firm reports it is now the largest certifier by contracted volume, handling more than 16 million tonnes across over 200 projects. Clients include Microsoft, Anglo American, JPMorganChase, and Boeing.

In December 2024 the company became the first carbon removal registry accredited by ICVCM, ICROA, and CORSIA, the main bodies overseeing voluntary and aviation carbon markets.

This experience builds on a sector the company has tracked through projects such as carbon storage in concrete and tools to detect misleading environmental claims. Isometric believes the underlying verification challenge remains consistent across applications.

Founder Eamon Jubbawy previously co-founded Onfido, an AI identity verification firm that processed over a billion identities before its acquisition by Entrust for approximately $650 million in 2024. He launched Isometric in 2022 to extend similar technology to environmental and industrial assertions.

"Certification has long required a balance between speed and thoroughness. Fast results often meant less depth, while rigorous checks took time," Jubbawy said. "Isometric removes that constraint. AI agents now deliver instant and seamless certification, unlocking greater capacity in the industrial economy."

The vision extends beyond carbon. Isometric views current certification as fragmented across separate registries and standards, each with distinct formats. It aims to consolidate them onto one platform with uniform criteria and a shared public registry. Upcoming focus areas include superpollutant reduction plus low-carbon energy, fuels, and materials.

"Certification has always required choosing between speed and rigour. Isometric removes that choice," said François Robinet, managing partner at AVP, describing the company as "truly category defining."

UK minister for economic transformation Blair McDougall called Isometric "the type of frontier AI company the UK aims to foster and grow." The funding provides capacity to broaden offerings. The central question remains whether industrial players will adopt faster certificate issuance.
