Apple launched the initial beta builds of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, and macOS Golden, along with other version 27 operating systems, at the Worldwide Developers Conference in 2026. On Monday the company started distributing the third beta, unlocking several capabilities previewed during the keynote. The iOS 27 beta 3 release adds fresh options for adjusting Siri’s voice, letting users modify response speed and alter how the assistant replies to questions. At the same time the watchOS 27 beta 3 brings a standalone Siri AI application to selected Apple Watch models.

The iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 beta 3 builds reached eligible enrolled devices on Monday. This beta introduces Pace and Expressivity sliders for Siri’s voice that let users fine-tune the assistant’s replies. These adjustments may also influence responses inside Maps and Safari.

Reports indicate the Siri voice settings were previously marked as coming soon. The Pace control changes narration speed while the Expressivity control modifies answer tone, much like voice options offered by other AI platforms.

The new voice settings appear inside the Siri AI app, where users can also pick accents or select a female or male voice. These modifications do not appear in Apple’s published release notes.

The iOS 27 beta 3 also refreshes the Reminders app icon and changes indexing text in Settings to read Optimizing Search and Siri. The Camera app now requires the updated Siri to access Siri Mode. On the watch side, watchOS 27 beta 3 delivers the standalone Siri app and Siri AI features to compatible Apple Watch units.

Release notes mention that AudioAccessoryKit now allows third-party makers to show headphone details and adds support for fixed spatial audio. Apple also notes a few earlier issues and workarounds, including slower Siri replies in CarPlay during high temperatures or weak network conditions.
