1. Locate the correct room in Settings

Select your home theater room, then navigate to Sound settings. Adjust surround, subwoofer, and height channels here if equipped.

Position yourself at your prime listening spot, like a favorite chair or couch section. Trust your ears - no universal rules exist. Changes are reversible, allowing tweaks for movies versus music.

2. Toggle EQ

The EQ offers Bass and Treble sliders across a 20-point range for the whole room system. I set Bass to +2 and Treble to +1.

Loudness enhances low-volume playback, broadening frequency response. Lower volumes emphasize mids like voices; higher levels reveal bass and treble.

3. Toggle Surround Audio

TV and Music Level: Balance surround volume for TV or music on a 30-point scale (+/-15). I use neutral values.

Surround Distance: Match this to your surrounds' position from listening area. Limited options exist, so TruePlay tuning helps accuracy.

Music Playback: Choose Ambient or Full for rear output during music. Full suits me, balancing stereo tracks better. Ambient front-loads sound, muting instruments behind vocals - less engaging for me. Front-focused listeners may prefer it.

Full expands stereo soundstage, hinting at overhead effects, excluding Dolby Atmos music. In uneven rooms, surrounds may overpower if close; dial back TV/Music Levels first.

4. Toggle Height Audio (if applicable)

Arc, Arc Ultra, Beam (Gen 2), and Era 300 feature upfiring drivers. Sound reflects from ceilings for overhead illusion.

Boost height levels for clearer overhead effects in immersive media. Vaulted ceilings may require maximum.

My nine-foot ceiling benefits from +4 height. It trails in-ceiling speakers but improves noticeably. Adjust on 20-point scale; eye-level soundbars rarely need negatives.

5. Toggle Sub Audio

Subwoofer volume shifts on scale; +2 works for my potent Sub 4, avoiding bass dominance.

Raise for thin sound, lower for boominess. Phase control: 0 degrees near mains facing you; 180 if opposite.
