A fresh developer platform named Entire offers a solution to recent instability on GitHub caused by rapid growth in autonomous coding tools. At its lead is Thomas Dohmke, who previously served as GitHub CEO.

These interruptions force developers globally to halt progress. With agent usage continuing to climb, GitHub is working to expand capacity, yet questions remain about its ability to match the pace.

Entire's distributed Git network enters preview on Wednesday and lets developers place repositories at multiple global locations. The decentralized approach spreads risk while boosting performance and user experience for those seeking alternatives to GitHub. The service integrates with Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and similar agent tools while keeping session information next to the code.

The preview enables one-step mirroring of a GitHub repository to Entire so that code remains in place yet agents can clone and fetch from a nearby regional mirror. This setup reduces intense concurrent read activity and removes rate limits for agent operations.

Initial benchmarks show the platform handling roughly 570,000 clones hourly from a single repository by simulating 200 clients performing shallow clones from European locations such as Frankfurt, London, Paris, and Dublin within about three minutes. Its Git Push capability sustains 586 pushes each second, equating to around 2.1 million hourly, on one branch or repository.

Entire reported these figures exceed those from Cursor Origin, a comparable agent-focused platform that cited 81,360 pushes per hour during a recent presentation. A company representative noted that Entire is currently measuring up to 25 times the performance of rival Git offerings in agent swarm scenarios.

Designed for agent-first workflows

In addition to decentralization advantages, Entire targets the expanding landscape of agent-heavy coding. It provides a semantic memory layer that detects errors made by agents and supplies developers with clearer insight into generated code. Tools such as Blame and Review highlight the last editor of a code line along with context, or invite several agents to evaluate an action.

The firm plans to soon allow native hosting of new public and private repositories and to fully decentralize the network for improved data residency, sovereignty, and regional scaling.
