Facebook is introducing updates today designed to boost user activity and improve organization across its services. Among the changes are a dedicated application for Marketplace sellers, a verification process confirming real users on Dating, Marketplace, and Groups, plus a new full-screen video format.

Marketplace currently handles over 430 million listings each month, supported by more than 1.1 billion active users, which helps retain younger audiences on the site.

To sustain this growth, the company is releasing a separate application called Seller aimed at frequent posters. It enables management of listings, direct messaging with buyers, and monitoring of item performance metrics.

Facebook is also launching a complimentary verification program named Facebook Verified, distinct from the paid Meta Verified subscription that offers a badge and extra tools.

Users can upload a selfie to confirm they are genuine, after which a verification indicator appears on profiles within Dating, Marketplace, and Groups. The mark features a check inside a white circle, differing from the blue badge available through paid subscription.

The firm is testing an optional immersive video mode that expands to full screen immediately upon opening the Facebook app. Initial testing targets video-focused regions outside the United States, with domestic availability planned for next year.

Users retain the ability to disable this view and revert to the standard feed layout. Similar experiments have already occurred on Instagram in select areas.

Meta continues releasing specialized applications to reach varied audiences. Earlier this year it introduced Forum, a discussion-style tool for Groups, and Pocket, focused on music creation.

Future plans include integrating AI capabilities to assist with tasks like generating item descriptions for listings or locating relevant answers within Groups.
