Samsung plans to reveal its latest foldable devices at the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for next week. This time the firm is preparing two book-style models instead of one, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 as its first wide-folding device and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra as the follow-up to the prior generation. Fresh renders of the pair recently appeared online and now a detailed breakdown of their specs and features has surfaced as well. Both devices are expected to run on a custom Snapdragon 8 series processor from Qualcomm.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra Expected Specifications and Features

WinFuture shared the complete list of details for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The standard wide-folding model is said to feature a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner display with 1848 x 2448 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio, plus a 5.5-inch outer cover screen at 1248 x 1972 pixels with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Both panels are expected to reach a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is projected to keep the same aspect ratio as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It may include an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner display at 2256 x 2504 pixels and a 6.5-inch outer cover screen, with both supporting up to 120Hz refresh rates like the base model.

Both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra are expected to share the same custom octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset from Qualcomm, offering a peak clock speed of 4.47GHz. They may also include up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Connectivity features are expected to cover 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a USB Type-C port.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could house a 5,000mAh battery while the standard model may use a 4,800mAh cell. Both are expected to support 45W wired fast charging. Camera setups include a 50-megapixel main rear sensor and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens on the Galaxy Z Fold 8. The Ultra model may feature a triple rear array with a 200-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens. Each phone is expected to carry two 10-megapixel selfie cameras.

Samsung will hold the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22 at 2 pm local time (6:30 pm IST) in London. The company has confirmed use of its Flex Titanium display technology in the new foldable devices. In addition to the book-style models, the event may also introduce the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, and Galaxy Glasses.
