Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Capcom's forthcoming action-adventure game, now carries an official launch date plus an available demo. During the State of Play stream on Tuesday, the publisher revealed a September 25, 2026 release across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. Fans can sample part of the experience right away since a playable demo is live on every supported platform.

The demo arrived on June 3 and is downloadable via Steam, Epic Games Store, plus the PlayStation and Xbox digital stores.

Within the demo players explore the Kiyomizu-dera Temple area and test the core combat system. Available tools include parry, deflect, Issen, soul absorption, and Oni Armament moves. A climactic encounter with the powerful Sasaki Ganryu serves as the main challenge.

Progress saved during the demo will not transfer to the finished release. Capcom also noted that certain elements in the demo vary from the final version.

PC performance for this demo may differ from that of the base game. There is no guarantee of compatibility and performance parity between the two versions. A separate benchmark tool will be released in order to assess the expected performance for your PC, the studio stated.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword marks the series return after two decades. Set in a dark fantasy version of Edo-era Kyoto, the story centers on samurai Miyamoto Musashi confronting otherworldly dangers. The title launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on September 25, 2026.

Pre-orders have opened on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. Editions include Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Deluxe priced at $69.99, $79.99, and $89.99 respectively (Rs. 4,399, Rs. 4,799, and Rs. 5,699 in India). Early buyers receive exclusive in-game rewards.
