Beyond the noticeable $130 price gap, key distinctions emerge in ecosystem compatibility, intelligent functionalities, and voice control options. Here's a detailed look.

You should choose the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker if...

1. You rely on Android devices

The Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker includes built-in Google Cast support, a boon for Android users or those with hybrid setups. Among the latest smart speakers I've evaluated this year, native Google Cast remains uncommon.

Google Cast mirrors Apple AirPlay by enabling seamless audio streaming from a device to the speaker over the same Wi-Fi network. For instance, I frequently cast YouTube audio to a speaker in seconds, then effortlessly redirect it back to my phone.

Keep in mind, despite Google Cast integration, the speaker lacks Google Assistant or Gemini support.

2. You prefer avoiding dedicated music apps

Start simple with a soundbar and one Era 100 for multiroom use, then add another Era 100 to form surrounds. Bose's Ultra series works similarly but limits compatibility to its three core products.
