Bitcoin hovered close to Rs. 78.2 lakh on Monday, showing resilience even as institutional outflows persisted and traditional markets fluctuated. Ethereum stood near Rs. 2.30 lakh, with major altcoins displaying varied performance. Observers noted that despite notable withdrawals from US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds last week, sizable holders kept adding to their Bitcoin stacks, implying some market participants view the current pause as an opportunity to increase exposure.

According to CoinGecko figures, Bitcoin changed hands at $82,500 (roughly Rs. 78.2 lakh) and Ethereum at $2,400 (roughly Rs. 2.29 lakh). The leading cryptocurrency declined 2 percent over the prior 24 hours per the Gadgets 360 tracker. Analysts highlighted roughly $228.6 million (roughly Rs. 2,167 crore) in net outflows from US spot Bitcoin ETFs during the past week. At the same time, addresses holding 10 to 10,000 BTC added nearly 86,000 BTC since mid-September, pointing to ongoing accumulation by large entities even as ETF demand eased.

Leading Altcoins Display Varied Performance on Monday

Binance Coin traded around $727 (roughly Rs. 68,900), Solana near $105 (roughly Rs. 9,600), XRP at about $1.31 (roughly Rs. 124), and Dogecoin close to $0.079 (roughly Rs. 7.5).

ETF Outflows and Policy Outlook Leave Traders on Guard

Addressing the contrast between institutional flows and whale activity, the CoinSwitch Markets Desk observed that Bitcoin's trading range illustrates differing behavior between institutions and large holders. Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw about $228.6 million (roughly Rs. 2,167 crore) in outflows over the past week, yet wallets in the 10-to-10,000 BTC bracket gathered nearly 86,000 BTC since mid-September. This persistent whale accumulation indicates some investors are using the consolidation phase to expand positions even while ETF interest softens.

Commenting on Bitcoin's steadiness amid equity-market swings and uneven altcoin results, Nischal Shetty, Founder of WazirX, noted Bitcoin's ability to hold up during a sharp US stock decline points to relative strength in the short term. Ether's 5.22 percent weekly drop versus Bitcoin's 2 percent loss underscores uneven crypto performance. The ETH/BTC ratio at 0.0293 implies Bitcoin is leading Ether, possibly reflecting preference for the larger asset amid uncertainty. Should the pattern persist, altcoins may find it harder to draw steady buying.

Discussing Bitcoin's rebound and key levels, Vikram Subburaj, CEO of Giottus.com, stated the recovery toward $82,400 (roughly Rs. 78.1 lakh) on October 19 followed buyer re-entry after the prior week's dip below $80,000 (roughly Rs. 75.8 lakh), though institutional demand stays patchy. US consumer inflation hit 3.7 percent in September, keeping the prospect of tighter policy alive for crypto participants. Investors are advised to scale purchases gradually and limit leverage ahead of October 28.

Analysts overall noted that Bitcoin's resilience together with continued large-holder accumulation offers support despite institutional selling and equity volatility. The $81,300 support zone (roughly Rs. 77 lakh) stays relevant, while a sustained move above $84,000-$84,500 (roughly Rs. 79.6 lakh-Rs. 80.1 lakh) could reinforce the recovery. Market participants also monitor whether the Treasury bond buyback program boosts liquidity and whether ETF flows improve.
