Anthropic revealed a new beta capability for Claude on Thursday designed to assist users in reviewing and understanding their engagement with the AI assistant. The feature offers a graphical dashboard displaying past interactions and suggestions for better time management, based on details from a company blog post.

Users and developers alike seek methods to maximize AI benefits, encouraging ongoing product adoption. Although sharing data with AI raises privacy questions, this tool returns personalized insights that could prove advantageous.

The reflection feature detects usage trends and delivers a summary of primary activities over chosen periods. Options include one, three, six, or twelve months for detailed or overview analysis. Anthropic plans to include a dedicated time-spent metric soon.

Users will see data on total activity, busiest times, chat trends via line charts, and breakdowns of tasks. Options exist to define quiet periods or receive alerts after extended sessions.

Through the reflection dashboard, individuals can develop abilities using the 4D AI Fluency Framework, which covers delegation, description, discernment, and diligence.

The tool summarizes interactions aligned with the framework's elements and offers workflow improvements, like initiating a Project to avoid repeating context.

Incognito conversations and previously connected tool files are excluded from reflections. For instance, email summaries may show up, but not the underlying messages. Health-related integrations are also omitted.

Experts from MIT Media Lab, Boston Children's Hospital Digital Wellness Lab, and Family Online Safety Institute contributed to development. Sensitive topics appear only in general terms.
