Matheus Cunha scored twice and Vinicius Jr added a fine finish before the interval, giving Brazil an early boost at the tournament.

A first victory, a first shutout and yellow-clad fans celebrating in the stands created an upbeat scene.

Yet Brazil faced a Haiti side ranked more than 80 places lower in the Fifa standings.

The Selecao looked subdued after the break and managed no shots on target in the second period.

Haiti, the first side eliminated from the 2026 World Cup, registered seven attempts to Brazil's two after half-time.

While Argentina and France have impressed on American soil, Brazil have yet to reach peak level and faded following a promising opening in Philadelphia.

Following the lacklustre 1-1 draw with Morocco in New Jersey, Brazil hold four points from two Group C fixtures and are set to reach the last 32.

So why does the authentic Brazil remain unseen?

Philadelphia turned yellow as thousands of Brazil supporters descended on the city.

Many without tickets gathered in bars to follow the action on screen, simply pleased to share the city with their idols on the World Cup stage.

Ancelotti adopted a firm stance at his post-match briefing, where the opening query focused on improvements over Morocco and lingering concerns.

"Matheus occupied an effective spot that troubled the defence. He distributed passes cleanly and his placement allowed him to threaten up front.

"It remains one possibility. We reviewed it yesterday. I prefer flexibility. We may adjust for the upcoming fixture."

After discussing tactics and Vinicius Jr, who now boasts six goal contributions across six World Cup outings, Ancelotti faced further questions on the display.

"It matched my expectations for this contest," he noted.

"Fewer errors than against Morocco, greater attacking efficiency, this was a positive result."

Regarding the Scotland clash, Ancelotti added: "We focus on performing well and progressing rather than elimination. We review each game.

"Scotland can pose issues. They troubled Morocco. We must concentrate, stay composed and continue improving."

Surprise greeted Ancelotti's inclusion of 34-year-old Neymar ahead of Chelsea's Joao Pedro.

Neymar holds Brazil's all-time scoring record with 79 goals yet has not represented his nation since October 2023.

The ex-Barcelona and Paris St-Germain attacker has battled a calf issue and skipped the trip to Philadelphia.

Ancelotti confirmed Neymar would be ready for Scotland.

"Yes, he trains alone tomorrow then joins the group on Monday," Ancelotti stated. "He will be available against Scotland."

Could his presence aid Brazil?

"This player is difficult to contain on the pitch. His style draws challenges," noted European football expert James Horncastle on the Euro Leagues Podcast.

"Carlo possesses the skill to unite stars and align the squad."

French expert Julien Laurens believes Neymar should not feature at the World Cup.

In May, Neymar apologised to Santos colleague Robinho Jr after striking the youngster in training.

"I do not believe he merits selection given recent displays and his conduct on and off the field," Laurens concluded.
