Former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade has revealed she has taken on work as a delivery driver to supplement her income during her recovery from an injury.

The 34-year-old Brazilian has been sidelined since her loss to Loopy Godinez in August, which resulted in a shoulder injury.

She has competed in 30 UFC bouts since 2013, securing 17 victories.

I work as a delivery driver. I deliver meals and similar items. I simply accept orders via an app and complete the deliveries, Andrade stated on the Brazilian MMA podcast Direto de Vegas.

I do whatever it takes. I am not scared of putting in hard work. I am capable of handling almost any task.

She mentioned beginning a landscaping project at a friend's residence, which includes clearing rocks, laying grass, and painting fences.

If I excel at this, it becomes an additional skill I can use if I ever need extra funds. We require some additional income, she noted.

In 2018, Andrade mentioned selling her UFC apparel, backpack, and gloves due to sponsorship challenges, though she noted being paid really well by the organization.

In 2023, she indicated fighting five times to cover divorce costs, and the next year she accused former coach Gilliard Parana of withholding funds. Parana rejected the claims.

UFC fighter compensation has faced scrutiny from competitors and press following boxer Conor Benn's reported 11 million pound single-fight agreement with Zuffa Boxing, under UFC president Dana White.

The UFC allocates roughly 20 percent of revenue to fighter pay, compared to about 60 percent in boxing events.

When addressing the criticism, White has highlighted the increase in UFC fighter pay since 2001.
