Irish international Orla Prendergast delivered figures of 4-18 to steer Welsh Fire past Manchester Super Giants by three wickets at Old Trafford.

In only her second Hundred appearance after stepping in as injury cover for Sophie Devine, the seamer dismantled the Super Giants top order and left the hosts reeling at 24-4.

Prendergast dismissed Super Giants skipper Meg Lanning for a golden duck, removed Mady Villiers for five via a catch and trapped Kathryn Bryce lbw for four, before Heather Graham had Paige Scholfield stumped for five.

India's Smriti Mandhana scored 15 but fell run-out following a risky single call, while Sophie Ecclestone (9) became Graham's second stumping victim.

Richa Ghosh fell to Prendergast's fourth wicket, caught in the covers for 11, yet Ryana MacDonald-Gay top-scored from number nine with an unbeaten 18 to lift her side to 85-9.

Fire posted 27 in reply before Sarah Bryce was caught and bowled by Bex Tyson for 16, and opener Georgia Voll also made 16 before skying a catch to Villiers.

Ecclestone dismissed Freya Kemp (6) and Prendergast in successive deliveries, catching her England colleague at short mid-on and then bowling the Ireland all-rounder. She also claimed Georgia Wareham, caught by Lanning for 17, finishing with 3-14.

Graham steered Fire to a tense victory, losing two more partners yet remaining unbeaten on 16 and striking the winning runs as her side reached 88-7 with nine balls remaining.

The result lifted Fire above Leeds Sunrisers into fourth place, two points behind Super Giants who stay third.
