This Sunday at noon Eastern Time, the All-Star Futures Game highlights the MLB All-Star celebrations with plenty of excitement. Fans near Philadelphia should attend and get there in time for batting practice to witness the upcoming talents competing to impress.

Just twelve months earlier, the Futures Game featured Trey Yesavage, who soon became a postseason standout for the Toronto Blue Jays, along with Konnor Griffin, who rose to become the top prospect before joining the Pittsburgh Pirates midseason.

Below are several standout prospects set for this edition, listed with Kiley McDaniel's current rankings in parentheses.

Super shortstops

Jesus Made, SS, Milwaukee Brewers (1)

Franklin Arias, SS, Boston Red Sox (6)

Each of these players entered the year with significant expectations, and they have delivered. Made, who turned 19 in May, has already reached Double-A and posted strong results for his age (.283/.355/.445). He generates impressive exit velocities while making consistent contact, underscoring his advanced plate skills. He has hit eight home runs, exceeding last year's total, yet he could benefit from more loft in his approach.

De Vries, also a teenager at Double-A, has posted comparable offensive figures (.278/.367/.427, 10 home runs). The A's acquired him via the Mason Miller trade, and that move looks increasingly wise.

Arias, one year older, has posted huge numbers at Double-A Portland (.332/.418/.602). With Boston's infield offense struggling, speculation grows about a possible promotion this season.

Most prized pitchers

Seth Hernandez, RHP, Pittsburgh Pirates (7)
Kade Anderson, LHP, Seattle Mariners (9)
Ryan Sloan, RHP, Seattle Mariners (17)

If one player stands out above the rest here, it could be Hernandez. The Pirates selected him sixth overall last year, though some considered him the draft's top talent; he slipped partly due to teams' caution with high school arms. He has advanced to High-A and recorded 107 strikeouts across 66 innings. With refined stuff and pitching command, he could likely contribute in the majors immediately.

Anderson, another 2025 draftee taken third out of LSU, has dominated at Double-A. He could clearly pitch for Seattle now, though the club lacks space in its six-man rotation.

Sloan, a second-round high school selection in 2024, has already reached Double-A. While he requires more development than Anderson, his upside may prove even greater.

2025 prep shortstops

Eli Willits, SS, Washington Nationals (8)
JoJo Parker, SS, Toronto Blue Jays (33)
Kayson Cunningham, SS, Arizona Diamondbacks (not in top 50)

Willits, Parker and Cunningham were all high school draftees whose stock has risen sharply in 2026. Willits went first overall and has shown more power than anticipated while remaining a potential Gold Glove defender. Parker was picked eighth with expectations of a strong hit tool and left-handed power, and those traits remain intact.

Cunningham went 18th and, though a year older at age 20, is batting .381 at Single-A Visalia. He needs to add power (one home run so far), but early signs are encouraging.

The main challenge will be giving all six shortstops mentioned more than a couple of at-bats.

Prospects with power

Josue De Paula, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers (18)
Ralphy Velazquez, 1B, Cleveland Guardians (31)
Charlie Condon, 1B/OF, Colorado Rockies (not in top 50)

These hitters are worth watching during batting practice. De Paula earned last year's Futures Game MVP honors by homering off Noah Schultz, now with the Chicago White Sox, in a left-handed matchup. Seen as the Dodgers' most advanced homegrown hitter since Corey Seager, he is batting .321 with 15 home runs at Double-A Tulsa.

Velazquez signaled a shift in Cleveland's draft strategy when the Guardians chose him 23rd in 2023, prioritizing his bat. Moved from catcher, he has reached Triple-A and could debut in the majors later this year.

Condon had a standout college season at Georgia in 2024, leading the Rockies to draft him third, one spot ahead of Nick Kurtz. Injuries slowed him after turning pro and again last year, but he is healthy now with 20 home runs and an OPS above 1.000 in Triple-A.

Pitchers with big fastballs

Liam Doyle, LHP, St. Louis Cardinals (28)

Gage Wood, RHP, Philadelphia Phillies (not in top 50)

Doyle leads this group as the fifth pick last June from Tennessee, where his fastball reached 100 mph. He has battled control at Double-A with an ERA above 5, but he should advance quickly once he throws more strikes.

Lagrange drew attention in spring training by regularly hitting 101 mph and topping out at 103.1. His fastball is undeniable, though the Yankees have used him in relief at Triple-A, pointing to a possible closer role.

Wood possessed one of the top fastballs in last year's draft from Arkansas, despite missing time with a shoulder injury before returning to strike out 19 against Murray State in the College World Series. The Phillies selected him late in the first round, and he has touched the upper 90s while advancing to Double-A.
