Shakur Stevenson confirms he has gained his release from Zuffa Boxing without stepping into the ring for the promotion.

The multi-division world champion Stevenson, 29, stood out among several notable additions to the Saudi-backed boxing venture run by TKO and Dana White.

He explored a potential clash with WBO welterweight champion Devin Haney, yet those plans fell apart, leaving Stevenson as a free agent.

Stevenson stated on his YouTube channel that he asked for a release from Zuffa Boxing.

He added that the request received approval over the weekend.

Zuffa Boxing has not addressed the reports of Stevenson's departure from the organization.

White has pledged to dominate boxing, with his standout acquisition being Conor Benn, whom he lured away from Matchroom and Eddie Hearn.

Benn has completed two bouts under Zuffa, the latest a rapid knockout loss to world champion Ryan Garcia last month.

Stevenson's most recent appearance delivered a strong win over American rival Teofimo Lopez, making him a four-weight world champion.

The New Jersey native aimed to reach five weight classes by facing Haney, but he voiced frustration over remaining idle since signing with Zuffa in July.

He noted spending roughly eight weeks in camp ready for bouts that were promised yet never materialized.

Stevenson views it as the nature of boxing business and avoids assigning blame to anyone.

He plans to guide his own career by launching a promotional company and partnering with promoters who share his dedication.

Stevenson intends to defend his WBO light-welterweight world title before progressing to welterweight in the years ahead.
