Marc Marquez extended his strong comeback from injury by taking the win at Brno, while MotoGP championship leader Marco Bezzecchi was forced to miss the event due to a one-race suspension.

The 33-year-old seven-time champion, who had secured his 100th career win in Hungary previously, added another victory despite ongoing recovery from foot and shoulder operations.

Riding for Ducati, Marquez overtook his teammate Francesco Bagnaia with five laps to go, securing the win, as Ai Ogura overtook Bagnaia late to claim second.

Aprilia's Bezzecchi received a ban following an incident with a marshal on Saturday.

After crashing in the sprint race, the rider attempted to remount his damaged machine and appeared to strike a marshal twice in the face while in the gravel area.

The 27-year-old offered a personal apology on Sunday morning, stating that his actions "should not happen".

"I understand the dedication and hard work marshals put in to keep us safe," Bezzecchi said.

"Such conduct must not occur and cannot be excused. I extend my apologies to all involved, including Aprilia Racing and my supporters."

Bezzecchi's teammate Jorge Martin ended the race in ninth position, now eight points behind in the standings, with Fabio Di Giannantonio in third.

Defending champion Marquez is fourth overall, 40 points adrift of Bezzecchi, having closed the gap from 102 points recently.

"This victory holds great significance, it is truly special," Marquez remarked. "I refuse to quit, yet I endured significant hardship and felt drained.

"Those final six laps felt endless, but I am extremely pleased."
