In the women's event:

Three overs have passed in the Lancashire Thunder versus Hampshire Hawks encounter at Stanley Park, with Lancashire at 23-1.

A delayed beginning between Durham and Yorkshire at Chester-le-Street.

The men's contests begin later.

Hampshire 181-6 (Lehmann 51, Potgieter 7) as Clark bowls once more. Strong approach and swift delivery. Surrey's bowling unit looks formidable here featuring Clark alongside Topley. They might test even seasoned campaigners. Potgieter struck the opening delivery of the over for four and continues to ease discomfort in his chest area while requesting a replacement bat.

Improved performance from England A today, dismissing South Africa for 129-6 after 26 overs. James Coles claimed three wickets and Rehan Ahmed took two.

Five new cricket domes planned

Government funding of £3m matched by the ECB will create all-weather domes in Birmingham, Bolton, Derby, Newcastle and Nottingham.
