The Atlanta Hawks are completing an agreement to obtain guard Aaron Wiggins from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for two second-round draft selections, according to sources who spoke with ESPN's Shams Charania on Sunday evening.

The Thunder will gain Atlanta's second-round selection in 2030 along with the least favorable of the Hawks' or Los Angeles Lakers' second-round pick in 2032, per sources.

Oklahoma City lowers its projected tax penalty from $213 million down to $152 million through the deal, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks. The move also opens a roster spot for the Thunder, leaving them with 14 players under contract including Lu Dort, Isaiah Hartenstein and Kenrich Williams, all of whom hold team options for the following season.

The Hawks will receive a 27-year-old guard who served as an important contributor on the Thunder's 2024-25 championship team. Wiggins posted averages of 12.0 points and 3.9 rebounds in 23 minutes per game during the regular season and 6.0 points in 13.8 minutes across the postseason.

In the most recent campaign, the 6-5 Wiggins averaged 9.4 points across 65 appearances with 21 starts.

The Hawks also agreed Sunday to a one-year contract extension worth $21 million with guard CJ McCollum, according to his agent Sam Goldfeder of Excel Sports Management.

Wiggins, selected 55th overall in the 2021 draft, provides Atlanta with another young talent seeking expanded minutes. Last summer the Hawks added Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who posted a career-best 20.8 points per game as a starter and captured the Most Improved Player honor.

Atlanta also obtained Jonathan Kuminga from the Golden State Warriors ahead of the trade deadline. The former Warrior averaged 12.2 points and 5.6 rebounds in 23.1 minutes while seeking a larger role. The Hawks hold a $24.3 million team option on Kuminga's deal that must be decided by June 29.

After falling in the opening round despite holding a 2-1 series lead over the eventual champion New York Knicks, Atlanta also controls the eighth and 23rd selections in this week's draft.

The Thunder hold the 12th and 17th picks.
