Offensive line performance often receives little notice, yet it shapes nearly every play. It controls how long a quarterback can wait for routes to open, whether a running back hits the line without contact, and if an offense stays coordinated or deals with constant sacks, flags and disrupted drives. A solid front gives the attack space to operate. A weak one turns routine gains into battles.

In fantasy terms, clean pockets improve passing production. Open lanes create explosive runs. Fewer negative plays extend possessions, create more red-zone opportunities and increase scoring chances. Top talent can occasionally overcome tough conditions, but most output depends on the supporting environment. When backs absorb early contact or quarterbacks face constant pressure, individual skill reaches only so far.

That explains why offseason line improvements and setbacks matter for fantasy managers. They highlight players whose situations may differ from market expectations.

Offensive line upgrades: RBs to target

Denver Broncos RBs: J.K. Dobbins (RB33), RJ Harvey (RB36) and Jonah Coleman (RB61)

Denver features one of the league's most stable offensive line groups. All five starters return, anchored by Garett Bolles and Quinn Meinerz, who performed strongly in both pass protection and run support last year. That continuity lifts the entire offense.

The backfield remains competitive. Dobbins enters as the projected Week 1 starter after leading the position in carries when healthy, outpacing Harvey in their overlapping games while averaging 5.1 yards per attempt. Harvey adds receiving value but carries recovery risk from shoulder surgery. Fourth-round rookie Coleman may earn early-down and goal-line work, offering depth appeal. A committee approach still makes sense behind this line, so drafting at least one Broncos back is logical.

Philadelphia Eagles RBs: Saquon Barkley (RB8), Tank Bigsby (RB49)

Barkley's outlook begins with the front. Philadelphia returns every starter after injuries hampered the run game last season, particularly Lane Johnson's absence. Barkley's totals dropped from 2,283 yards from scrimmage and 15 touchdowns in 2024 to 1,413 yards and nine scores in 2025, with fantasy points per game falling from 22.5 to 14.5.

The role stays strong, however. Barkley averaged 19.8 touches per game and remains the clear lead option. A healthier line and Sean Mannion's scheme should add motion, under-center work and outside-zone runs. Bigsby provides solid depth but poses little threat to the lead role. At a better draft price, Barkley represents a strong rebound candidate.

Buffalo Bills RBs: James Cook III (RB6), Ray Davis (RB58), Ty Johnson (undrafted)

Cook benefits from continuity up front. Buffalo returns most of a line that topped the league in run block win rate and ranked fourth in pass block win rate. Losing David Edwards is notable, yet Dion Dawkins, Connor McGovern, O'Cyrus Torrence and Spencer Brown keep the group elite.

This environment makes Cook one of fantasy's safer running back selections. He led the league with 1,621 rushing yards, carried a career-high 309 times and finished as the RB6 in fantasy points per game. The receiving share stays modest, but volume and touchdown potential in Josh Allen's offense secure his RB1 status. Cook leads the group, while Davis and Johnson offer late-round options.

Los Angeles Rams RBs: Kyren Williams (RB16), Blake Corum (RB38)

The Rams lack household names but deliver top-tier results. Los Angeles ranked second in run block win rate and eighth in pass block win rate. Rob Havenstein's retirement matters, yet Warren McClendon performed well enough to maintain the unit's standing.

That stability supports trusting the backfield again. Williams remains the lead back after recording 1,533 total yards, 13 touchdowns and 15.5 fantasy points per game, even as Corum saw increased work. Corum has emerged as a strong handcuff after averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Williams is the main target, though both offer strong draft value.

Chicago Bears RBs: D'Andre Swift (RB24), Kyle Monangai (RB37)

Chicago possesses the talent to stay among the league's better lines, though center and left tackle must perform. Joe Thuney remains elite at guard, Darnell Wright continues to rise and Jonah Jackson played well. The Bears ranked fifth in run block win rate and led the league in pass block win rate while excelling in yards before contact. If the key spots hold, the unit could rank among the best and boost the running backs.

Both Swift and Monangai carry appeal at their prices. Swift exceeded 1,300 yards from scrimmage in each Chicago season and finished as the RB17 in fantasy points per game. Monangai earned a meaningful role as a rookie, averaged 4.6 yards per carry and holds upside if Swift misses time. Swift is the priority, but Monangai ranks among the better late-round insurance options.

Offensive line downgrades: RBs to fade

Tennessee Titans RBs: Tony Pollard (RB28), Tyjae Spears (RB44)

Tennessee presents a challenging line outlook. Peter Skoronski and JC Latham provide building blocks, but the remainder needs improvement. Dan Moore Jr. struggled last season, Austin Schlottmann lacks starter experience and Cordell Volson returns from injury after inconsistent play. The group projects near the bottom of the league.

This affects Pollard and Spears. Pollard should receive volume and has cleared 1,000 rushing yards in four straight years, yet the offense has capped his touchdown output and his fantasy points per game have declined over three seasons. He fits as an RB3 or flex but should not be overdrafted. Spears holds late-round interest but likely stays irrelevant unless Pollard is sidelined.

Cleveland Browns RBs: Quinshon Judkins (RB21), Dylan Sampson (RB66)

Cleveland's line carries more uncertainty than Tennessee's. The Browns rebuilt the entire unit, adding talent but losing continuity. First-round pick Spencer Fano, Zion Johnson, Elgton Jenkins and Tytus Howard offer potential, yet Teven Jenkins is the only projected starter with prior meaningful snaps for the team. The group may need time to gel.

That leaves Judkins, who returned for OTAs and minicamp after a season-ending ankle injury, as an RB2 with risk. He averaged 18.7 touches per game from Weeks 2-15 as a rookie, and projections suggest strong volume in Todd Monken's run-heavy scheme. Efficiency and scoring environment remain concerns, however. Cleveland ranked 24th in run block win rate, the line needs cohesion and the quarterback situation is unsettled. Judkins offers volume but limited upside.

Houston Texans RBs: David Montgomery (RB25), Woody Marks (RB42)

Houston finished last in run block win rate, ranked 22nd in rushing yards despite 13th in attempts and sat near the bottom in yards before contact. Additions of Wyatt Teller, Braden Smith and first-round rookie Keylan Rutledge bring talent, yet Rutledge's move from guard to center adds transition risk.

Montgomery projects to lead in touches and provides a physical presence near the goal line. He returns from career lows in touches, yardage and fantasy points per game, while Marks retains a role. Montgomery fits as an RB3 or flex at his ADP, though the line could cap his ceiling.

Miami Dolphins RB: De'Von Achane (RB5)

Miami retains some line talent, with Aaron Brewer performing well, Patrick Paul showing progress and first-rounder Kadyn Proctor adding interior strength. The rest of the group remains unsettled, especially after Jonah Savaiinaea's difficult rookie year.

This creates risk for Achane despite his clear lead role. He has finished as a top-five fantasy running back in back-to-back seasons and brings elite speed with little competition. The environment has changed, however, with a new coach, new quarterback Malik Willis and the absence of Mike McDaniel's scheme that supported his receiving production. Achane remains an RB1 due to talent and volume, but the line and possible receiving decline add risk.

Green Bay Packers RBs: Josh Jacobs (RB13), MarShawn Lloyd (RB62)

Green Bay's line improves if Zach Tom stays healthy, but questions remain elsewhere. Tom excels at right tackle yet returns from a partially torn patellar tendon. The Packers lost Rasheed Walker and Elgton Jenkins, are shifting Jordan Morgan to left tackle and moving Sean Rhyan to center after an uneven start. Aaron Banks also struggled in his first year with the team.

This adds risk for Jacobs, though he remains the focal point. Before his injury last season, he averaged 21.1 touches and 19.6 fantasy points per game over his first nine outings. He projects to lead the backfield in a productive offense. Jacobs can be viewed as a low-end RB1, but the line concerns and his legal situation increase risk.
