Currently, the leading option involves adding a race at Imola in Italy during early December.

Italian weather then can turn cold, yet Domenicali observed last week it may not prove colder than Las Vegas in late November.

Nighttime temperatures drop sharply in Las Vegas during the grand prix, and the track surface offers little grip. Being a night event, solar heating of the asphalt is absent, unlike the partial effect possible at Imola.
