Stokes expected back as captain for the next Test

We were outplayed

Lancashire coach Steven Croft spoke after another three-day defeat: I thought we were outplayed and under-performed with bat and ball. It is disappointing. Although we have young players more of the team must step up. We were put in on a bowler-friendly pitch but could have done better. We were short on batting and bowling skills and must find a way to improve. We are under-performing despite injuries. On Joe Moores maiden fifty it is great to see him score runs and keep well.

Century for Rory Burns

Derbyshire require 24 runs to defeat Lancashire

Harry Came fell third ball but Derbyshire are now halfway there.

Leicestershire have produced an almost perfect game and a first win would be thoroughly deserved. They have batted and bowled well and shown they can succeed in Division One. Yorkshire are six down at lunch and still 147 behind with Hill and Bess at the crease.

Stokes withdrawn from Durham match at ECB request

Ben Stokes will take no further part in Durham's match against Northamptonshire having been withdrawn at the request of the ECB. Colin Ackermann replaces him. Gus Atkinson has also been stood down from Surrey's match at Glamorgan suggesting both will return for the third Test against New Zealand.
