Rory McIlroy featured among several players affected when fading light forced suspension of the second round at the DP World India Championship.

England's Eddie Pepperell and Todd Clements sit one stroke behind the four-way leaders after completing their 18 holes in New Delhi.

Joost Luiten, Angel Hidalgo and Adrian Meronk finished their rounds to share the lead at eight under par, while Belgium's Thomas Detry also sits at the top despite his round ending early after seven holes.

Northern Ireland's Tom McKibbin began the second round one shot off the lead but dropped to three behind at five-under par after seven holes.

Six-time major winner McIlroy stands tied for 17th on four-under but saw his round stopped after four holes.

The Northern Ireland player opened his second round with a fine eagle and added three pars before the hooter ended play.

England's Tommy Fleetwood and Scotland's Robert MacIntyre also saw their rounds halted after the fourth hole, joining McIlroy on four-under par and four shots off the lead.

The stoppages follow heavy rain and thunderstorms that paused play for five hours during Thursday's first round. The second round will restart at 02:45 BST on Saturday.
