During 2024, Evans gave up the 500 ranking points earned at the Washington Open a year earlier in order to team up with fellow Briton Andy Murray for his farewell event at the Paris Olympics.

The duo exited in the quarter-finals during what became Murray's concluding match of a distinguished career.

"Representing Great Britain across Davis Cup and Olympic events stands as the greatest privilege of my career and one I will value forever," Evans noted, having competed in 28 Davis Cup ties for his country.

Evans, who faced a one-year ban following a positive cocaine test in 2017, expressed gratitude to his family for their "constant backing amid all the peaks and challenges".

"I am eager to end on a strong note and commit fully one final time," he stated.

Wimbledon begins on 29 June, though Evans must navigate qualifying rounds or secure a wildcard entry for the main draw.

He has not progressed past qualifying at the previous three major tournaments, despite receiving a wildcard invitation to last year's Wimbledon.

The event's wildcard panel is scheduled to convene on Tuesday to select additional players for the main draw.
