I believed I could achieve it, yet actually delivering feels entirely distinct. Maintaining composure on the high bar proved quite challenging.
When the final tally arrived it brought pure elation, pride, delight, I cannot describe it. It is remarkable and I feel deeply thankful. Huge appreciation to all my team, family, coaches, and teammates. This victory belongs to everyone.

Idi Amins grandson pledges to become new king of Scotland

England super-heavyweight Damar Thomas faces the grandson of Idi Amin, the former Ugandan dictator who styled himself King of Scotland, to advance in Commonwealth Games boxing in Glasgow on Wednesday.
Aziz Abdul, nicknamed Ringo, openly references his link to Amin, the military leader who took power in 1971, responsible for up to 500000 deaths and the expulsion of Ugandas Asian community before exile eight years later.
Amin excelled as a boxer holding the Ugandan light-heavyweight crown for nine straight years from 1951 to 1960. After losing to Peter Sseruwagi in 1958 he arranged a rematch post-presidency, staging a knockout while dressed in suit and tie.
My grandfathers feats motivated me, the 25-year-old Aziz stated. He boxed as a heavyweight like me and I take pride in him. Lions support lions. A lion does not aid a dog or camel. A lion must mirror a lion. That is reality. I am a true fighter. I am the son of the son.
Amin declared himself king of Scotland in 1976 after developing interest during service in the Kings African Rifles in his twenties. His comment inspired the Oscar-winning film The Last King Of Scotland featuring Glasgow-born actor James McAvoy.
Aziz plans to use his secret Ringo Punch to finish bouts before judges decide, following Amins advice that the sole way to beat an enemy of the country is by knockout.
I know British heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury yet my hero remains Mike Tyson the baddest man on the planet. Should I claim gold I will be the baddest man in the Commonwealth, the baddest man in Glasgow, and the new king of Scotland.

Eight years after Englands dramatic last-second win over Australia on the Gold Coast, netballs premier Commonwealth rivalry resumed in Glasgow. Yet no storybook ending awaited the Roses as the defending champions delivered a clinical performance to overpower England 66-47 at the Hydro, extending their Games record against this foe to seven victories from eight encounters.

Since Helen Housbys final-second strike stunned the Diamonds in the 2018 final, every clash between these powers has carried heightened tension. Australia exacted revenge by defeating England en route to gold in Birmingham four years ago and Sundays pool match served as another indicator of the sports sharpest rivalry.
