Femily-Crystie Notte from Nauru at only 17 lifts 97kg cleanly while Maude Charron of Canada matches with 99 showing great composure.

These women lift impressive loads but can Smale manage 95kg? She steps to the bar closes her eyes and prepares for what may be her final competitive lift she holds position and stands successfully giving her a strong shot in clean and jerk.

Athletes warm up so back to weightlifting where Elliott of Australia also misses at 95 then Smale fails again though she has lifted this weight often. Davies succeeds easily on her second attempt.

Kate McDonald of Australia the defending champion performs a cautious routine with minor foot adjustments that lower her score. Judges award 12.166 placing her fifth of five.

Leat's routine flows well except one error that changes everything. She scores 12.866 with difficulty of 6.000 earning respect but the mistake leaves her third.
