Marios Georgiou of Cyprus completes the second of eight routines staying on the apparatus though leg separations reduce his execution score. He records 13.100 to take the temporary lead.

Moore the all-around bronze medalist lands cleanly but an earlier error affects his total. He scores 12.833 about half a mark below his qualifying result which likely leaves him outside the medals.

The men's pommel horse final starts soon followed by the women's 53kg weightlifting final at 3.30pm BST.

England secure a 21-0 victory over Kenya in men's wheelchair 3x3 marking the first shutout of the competition. In netball England lead Malawi 44-27 with 8.58 left in the third quarter.

England continue their strong run against Kenya in wheelchair 3x3 leading 15-0 with 5.07 remaining.

In wheelchair 3x3 England men top their group at 4-0 and lead Kenya 3-0.

At halftime in netball England lead Malawi 37-23 though the contest feels preparatory. The key match arrives Thursday evening against South Africa with the winner likely joining Australia in the semifinals.

England improve their position leading 31-20 with four minutes left in the second quarter. Meanwhile Australia women defeat Canada in 3x3 after overtime with both sides advancing to the knockout stage.

The next final occurs at 3pm in the men's pommel horse. Until then netball continues with England ahead of Malawi 21-12. The match shows some untidiness yet South Africa defeated Malawi 65-44 suggesting England remain on track for a better margin.

Fontaine aged only 16 earned vault silver at last year's world championships and shows strong promise for the future with an equally solid present performance.

Commonwealth Games: schedule highlights for the rest of the day

Netball resumes at 2pm BST featuring England versus Malawi followed by Tonga versus Northern Ireland Jamaica versus Uganda and Scotland versus Trinidad and Tobago.

Bowls and para-bowls run from 2.45pm until 10pm. 3x3 basketball takes place from 5pm to 9.15pm and boxing from 6pm to 10pm.

Medal opportunities abound in the evening sessions. From 6.30pm BST nine athletics and para-athletics finals occur including the men's high jump hammer and steeplechase the women's 10,000m the men's T37/38 100m and the women's shot put F57.

From 7pm BST nine swimming and para-swimming finals take place. The men's 79kg weightlifting concludes at 8pm BST.

PA reports quotes from England's Gabriel Langton who feared for his gymnastics career after a fall on opening day. The 19-year-old who suffered head and neck injuries after slipping from the high bar states he hoped to return to training soon after scans confirmed no serious damage.

Athletics: The women's 100m heats commence with Mabel Akande of England and Leah Bertrand of Trinidad and Tobago winning the first two. Advancement depends on the 17 fastest times overall rather than heat position turning the round into a time trial.
