WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump is set for a medical and dental checkup later this month - his fourth publicized health visit since resuming office - which the White House calls an annual physical and standard preventive care.

The president, turning 80 next month as the oldest individual ever elected U.S. leader, will meet his doctors at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on May 26, per a concise White House statement issued Monday evening.

Public interest in Trump's health remains intense. He has expressed regret over cardiac and abdominal imaging from last year, noting it sparked unnecessary concerns.

Trump - often vocal about former President Joe Biden's age-related challenges - recently shared feeling as vibrant as he did 50 years back. "I feel literally the same," he remarked Monday during an Oval Office appearance. "I don't know why. It's not because I eat the best foods."

Last week, he quipped about his workouts, claiming about "one minute a day, max."

Presidents hold broad authority on disclosing health details. Following his April 2025 annual exam, Trump's physician declared him "fully fit" for commander-in-chief duties.

Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella, his doctor, noted Trump shed 20 pounds since a 2020 evaluation that indicated near-obesity levels.

Months later, after reporting "mild swelling" in his lower legs, Trump underwent another checkup. White House medical staff diagnosed chronic venous insufficiency, a frequent issue in seniors where blood pools in veins.

Then-White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt explained visible bruising on Trump's hands - occasionally concealed by makeup - as stemming from constant handshakes and aspirin intake. He uses aspirin to lower heart attack and stroke risks.

Trump's October exam was labeled a "semiannual physical," including his annual flu shot and COVID-19 booster. He later revealed to The Wall Street Journal that it featured advanced heart and abdomen scans for prevention.

During his initial term, Trump completed at least four in-office exams, plus a Walter Reed stay for COVID-19 in October 2020.

This dental review comes after two recent trips to a dentist near his Florida estate, a frequent weekend retreat.

The appointment aligns roughly 10 days post-Trump's anticipated return from a Beijing summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
