Tucker Carlson planning to help build new US political party

Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson announced plans to assist in creating a fresh political party in the United States during a Wednesday interview with Columbia Journalism Review.

"We need a third party," Carlson stated. "I am going to help build a third party."

He portrayed the Republican and Democratic parties as operating in coordinated alignment with one another.

"If you vote for Trump and you still wind up in a regime-change war, if Chuck Schumer is strongly behind Trump's foreign policy, which he is, then we need options, or else let's just give up and be ruled by the most unscrupulous people," he remarked, referencing President Donald Trump and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. "And I am just too young to accept that."

"That is not a democracy," he continued. "That is a one-party state posing as a democracy, and it needs to be broken."

The former Fox News host clarified he has no intention of running for office under the potential new party, adding with sarcasm that he would only consider a bid on the pro-patriarchy ticket.

"There should be a good-faith effort to figure out what benefits the country," Carlson observed. "The US government should have, as its first priority, the welfare of its own people."

Carlson pushed into talking about Israel

On the topic of Israel, Carlson noted he had not expected to address the subject after leaving Fox, but felt compelled to do so.

"I felt I had no choice," he said. "Early in 2025, Netanyahu showed up at the White House right after Trump's inauguration, and I thought, 'This is a little early to be siphoning off the energy from this campaign and this election for the benefit of another country.'"

"I very quickly began to understand the point of these visits was a regime-change effort in Iran," Carlson added. "And that is something that I talked to Trump about many times over ten years. Fifty times! More! In public, but mostly in private."

Iran-war regime-change effort by Israel

He characterized Israel's June 2025 conflict with Iran as a major shift in his perspective, asserting the confrontation did not center on Iran's nuclear capabilities.

"It was the first salvo in a regime-change effort led by Israel," he said. "And that is just antithetical to everything Trump ran on."

Carlson further stated that Israel holds limited strategic weight from an American viewpoint, even after multiple visits there.

"It is not in our hemisphere. It has got no resources. So I just do not care," Carlson remarked. "But once you start taking over my political system and destroying my country, then I have a right to care. So now I do care."
