US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed on Tuesday that a shipment of interceptors intended for Ukraine under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List program might not have arrived yet. He emphasized that the holdup stems from no political motivations.

"The key point here is that there has been no intentional political order aimed at damaging Ukraine," Rubio stated to reporters at the start of his visit to India.

"Nothing is being intentionally withheld from Ukraine," he added.

Rubio mentioned a 45-minute discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier that day. The discussion covered ballistic missile interceptors, advance alerts regarding Russian assaults, and the status of Starlink and Starshield satellite services, which Zelensky indicated require restoration.

These remarks follow a Reuters report indicating that US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has not yet approved the release of the newest batch of American arms bought by NATO partners via the PURL initiative.

Zelensky noted that the Pentagon postponed the missile shipments under this program amid worsening ties between Kyiv and Washington this month, as US President Donald Trump engaged with Moscow.

According to Reuters, the US had warned it might suspend the PURL system to urge Kyiv to cease its long-range attacks on Russian energy facilities, coinciding with Trump's declaration of an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

Von der Leyen Calls for EU to Revise Arctic Approach Amid Russian Military Rebuild

On the same day, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the European Union needs to revise its strategic approach in the Arctic region. This comes as Russia reconstructs its military presence there, and the foundational values for regional security can no longer be assumed.

"The Arctic represents a location where geopolitical forces are clashing. Moreover, it is not a distant border. It belongs to the European Union," von der Leyen remarked while unveiling a fresh EU Arctic strategy.
