Palm Beach, Florida, has officially renamed its main airport after US President Donald Trump, marking the latest in a series of facilities and programs adopting the Republican leader's name.

The change transforms Palm Beach International Airport into President Donald J. Trump International Airport, highlighting strong backing for Trump in Florida where his Mar-a-Lago estate is located.

"I don't think there's anybody more synonymous with Palm Beach than Donald Trump in maybe all of Florida," Trump's son Eric Trump told Fox News.

Trump's Name Appears Across Many Sites

Since beginning his second term, Trump has seen his name placed on a new class of Navy vessels, a visa initiative for affluent foreigners, a federal drug pricing site, and savings accounts for children run by the government.

He has also pushed to reshape Washington landmarks. While the Trump name now marks the United States Institute of Peace building, courts blocked efforts to attach it to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis approved the airport renaming bill in March.

The Federal Aviation Administration updated the airport code from PBI to DJT on Thursday. Travelers must continue using PBI for bookings until August 18, after which baggage tags, tickets, and systems will reflect the new identifier.

The airport reported the rebranding carried a $5.5 million price tag.

Eric Trump and relatives arrived on the first flight touching down at the renamed facility in the early morning hours aboard a private jet.

"There's no way in hell I was letting UPS be the first plane to land," Eric Trump remarked on Fox and Friends.

JetBlue leads operations at Palm Beach, with Delta and American together handling roughly two-thirds of all flights.

Several other US airports carry political names, such as the one in Little Rock, Arkansas, honoring Bill and Hillary Clinton while keeping its original LIT code. Additional facilities in Las Vegas and San Jose, California, have also been renamed for former lawmakers.
