Officials have reported that a British man aged 63 lost his life in a paragliding incident within the Catalonia region of north-eastern Spain.

Reports of the incident reached emergency responders in the Palau de Noguera vicinity, close to Tremp, at roughly 13:30 local time which corresponds to 14:30 BST on Wednesday.

Rescuers discovered the individual with severe injuries and administered initial medical assistance until professional help arrived, yet he succumbed to his injuries.

The UK Foreign Office indicated it is assisting the relatives of the British man who passed away in Spain.

Palau de Noguera lies close to Àger, a location favored by enthusiasts of paragliding and hang gliding at the foothills of the Pyrenees in north-eastern Spain.

Reports from local outlets suggested the man may have become caught in electrical cables prior to impacting the terrain.

Nevertheless, the precise cause remains unverified by officials.

According to the Catalan government, three fire brigades along with two medical units responded to the location.

Furthermore, the Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia's primary police force, collaborated with five units from the citizen security and investigation divisions.

Local media noted that officials planned to notify the man's relatives via British consular services.
