The cabin of the Xpeng G9L large SUV has been revealed ahead of its planned November 2026 arrival in Australia as part of the Chinese brand's renewed local push.

Comparable in scale to the Kia EV9 and Volvo EX90 large electric SUVs, the five-seat G9L stretches 5120mm in length, 1999mm in width and up to 1795mm in height on a 3100mm wheelbase, and should reach Australia shortly after its Chinese launch.

It will slot beneath the six- and seven-seat Xpeng GX SUV, scheduled for Australia in 2027.

Local pricing and specifications remain undisclosed.

The G9L will come with both battery-electric and extended-range powertrains on an 800V platform, though Xpeng has not confirmed rear- or all-wheel drive options for Australia.

First images show the roomy interior trimmed in Sahara Orange leather with a star motif and a panoramic glass roof under the 'Starry Universe First-Class Cabin' theme.

Power doors and Zero Gravity seats aim to cut fatigue, with front seats offering massage, heating and ventilation, plus a front passenger seat that folds flat.

Drivers face an 88-inch augmented reality head-up display and a 9.0-inch digital rear-view mirror, while a 15.6-inch central screen sits above a floating console with twin 50W wireless chargers.

Highlighting luxury, Xpeng says the G9L offers the biggest second row in its segment, complete with a smart executive console that includes a 12.5-litre voice-controlled fridge and a 21.4-inch rear entertainment screen.

The base G9L EREV in China uses a 110kW/210Nm 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine as a generator paired with a rear 210kW/465Nm electric motor and single-speed transmission.

It draws from a 63.3kWh LFP battery for a 350km WLTC electric-only range, while the all-wheel-drive version adds a second motor for 370kW combined and a 325km WLTC electric range.

Battery-electric models begin with a rear-wheel-drive variant making 270kW on a 91.9kWh LFP pack rated at 672km CLTC, with a larger 110kWh NMC battery extending range to 805km.

The top all-wheel-drive G9L EV delivers 430kW with the same battery choices for CLTC ranges of 635km and 750km, and the 800V system supports adding up to 450km in roughly nine minutes under optimal conditions.

Every version includes double-wishbone front suspension, multi-link rear suspension and 22-inch alloy wheels.

The G9L arrives as Xpeng restarts direct Australian operations after its initial 2024 entry via TrueEV with the G6 SUV.

Xpeng began its own local distribution earlier this year, sparking a continuing legal clash with TrueEV, and has mapped out further model launches under the factory-backed entity.

Besides the G9L and GX SUVs, Xpeng Australia has slated the X9 people mover for September 2026, the L03 mid-size SUV for November and the L05 SUV for early 2027.

The brand is also assessing the second-generation P7 for Australia but has not yet confirmed the electric liftback locally.
