A refreshed Xpeng has revealed intentions to introduce four new vehicles across Australia in the coming half-year, aiming to grow its range past the lone G6 SUV and strengthen its presence in the market.

At the brand's inaugural Brand Day event held in Melbourne, Xpeng's head of marketing and creativity Damian Royce detailed the upcoming model wave, which features a refreshed G6 alongside plans to grow the dealer count from 13 outlets to 50.

Among the new arrivals is the seven-seat X9 electric people mover, due in the third quarter of 2026 to compete with models like the Denza D9, Volkswagen ID. Buzz and Zeekr 009.

Xpeng confirmed two X9 variants for local buyers, beginning with a front-wheel drive Standard Range at $89,900 before on-road costs and a Performance AWD flagship priced at $109,900 before on-road costs.

While offered as an extended-range electric vehicle in China, only pure EV versions will reach Australia.

The X9 employs an 800V electrical platform, where the Standard Range pairs a 94.8kWh LFP battery with 535km WLTP range and the Performance uses a 110kWh NMC pack for 580km WLTP range.

It supports 5C ultra-fast charging that can replenish from 10 to 80 per cent in roughly 12 minutes, plus Vehicle-to-Load functionality.

The X9 is timed to appear alongside the updated G6 electric SUV, currently the sole model available since the brand entered the market in 2024.

Positioned against the Tesla Model Y, BYD Sealion 7 and Zeekr 7X, the revised G6 expands to four grades starting at $51,800 for the single-motor Standard Range with up to 480km WLTP range.

The G6 Long Range delivers up to 525km from an 80.8kWh LFP battery and shares the 12-minute fast-charge capability along with V2L support.

Two Performance variants feature a 358kW/660Nm dual-motor system achieving 0-100km/h in 4.15 seconds, with pricing from $63,800 before on-road costs.

Scheduled for the final quarter, the Xpeng L03 targets showrooms as a rival to the BYD Atto 3 and Geely EX5.

This entry-level mid-size SUV from the Mona sub-brand appeals to younger buyers and measures 4650mm long, 1920mm wide and 1600mm tall with a 2850mm wheelbase matching the Toyota bZ4X.

Xpeng Australia has not yet disclosed local pricing or specifications for the L03, which starts at around A$26,000 in China and reaches about A$33,000, comparable to the Geely Galaxy E5 known locally as the EX5 from $41,990 plus on-road costs.

The L03 lineup uses a 183kW/280Nm single motor, with base models offering a 56kWh battery for up to 550km CLTC range and a 69kWh option extending to 650km CLTC.

An EREV variant is available overseas with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine and 37.2kWh battery providing 315-325km CLTC electric range within a total 1330-1380km driving range.

The interior features electrically adjustable leather seats, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and a surround-view camera system, while select versions add a Turing processor chip.

The L03 will coincide with the arrival of the Xpeng G9L large SUV, as Australia skips the prior G9 nearing the end of its cycle.

The new G9L matches the dimensions of the Kia EV9 and Volvo EX90 electric SUVs.

Both EREV and EV versions are planned for Australia, though pricing and full specifications remain pending for local and Chinese markets.

A recent Chinese filing noted the G9L will offer a 270kW single-motor rear-wheel drive setup, with all-wheel drive models adding a 160kW front motor, while EREV variants include a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine.

The fifth model, the Xpeng L05, is slated for January 2027 and sits above the L03 in size and price at 4870mm long, 1930mm wide and 1636mm tall on a 2940mm wheelbase.

It shares the EV and EREV powertrains from the L03, with both expected locally, though complete details are still emerging from China.

This expansion follows Xpeng Australia and New Zealand assuming local distribution from TrueEV in April 2026 after the brand debuted under the prior partner in late 2024.

The firms are now engaged in legal proceedings over the change, with TrueEV removed short of completing a five-year agreement.

Xpeng has stated it will fulfill cashback commitments for buyers who acquired vehicles through TrueEV while pursuing growth to 50 dealers by 2027.
