The upcoming Hyundai Tucson was captured in a South Korean parking area.
It looks notably bigger than the present model and nearly matches the size of the prior Kia Sorento beside it.

UPDATE: In the Q2 2026 earnings call, Hyundai stated the new Tucson will arrive in South Korea during the fourth quarter of this year.

There is no need to wait for the official debut later this year to view the completely updated interior, as this footage essentially reveals it. Covered externally yet with an open cabin, the next Tucson was recorded by YouTuber mediaAUTO in a South Korean lot, likely near the Namyang R and D site. Prior to examining the transformed inside, the clear growth in dimensions stands out immediately.

With the last-generation Sorento positioned alongside, the Tucson seems ready for expansion. It gives the impression of matching the larger SUV from Kia. The stretched shape should yield extra room inside if the wheelbase extends as well. Current Tucson models measure around 177 inches or 4.5 meters, while the earlier Sorento reached just over 187 inches or 4.8 meters.

It probably will not reach that full scale, as the covering can exaggerate size, yet the form does appear longer than today's Tucson. Other areas suggest unusual headlamps and taillamps under the wrap, which aligns with Hyundai's pattern of bold lighting experiments.

Although the body received full coverage, the cabin stayed mostly open. The new Pleos system dominates the view and seems quite large, with physical buttons retained below it. The tablet display exceeds the optional 14.6-inch unit in the latest Elantra or Avante. In the top Grandeur, the screen reaches 17 inches.

The driver retains a standalone digital cluster above the dash, similar to the Elantra and Grandeur. A traditional gear lever remains on the console, which is unexpected since the current Tucson shifted to a stalk after its update. This may suit base versions or specific regions, but it looks like a finished arrangement rather than a temporary prototype.

Additional visible items include dual wireless chargers, spacious cup holders, a 60-40 rear seat, and multiple steering and door controls. The rear legroom hints at an extended wheelbase, and cargo space likely grows too. This shows ongoing vehicle enlargement, which can allow room for new variants below.

While the coverings should lift in South Korea soon, global sales of the new Tucson are expected only in 2027. The Kia Sportage will also receive a full redesign next year.
