Simply called the GT, this is the fifth member of the Range Rover lineup.
The new grand tourer sits lower to the ground and has a 2+2 interior layout. A three-seat rear bench is also available.
It's initially coming out as an EV, with a full hybrid to follow.

From the outset, it is worth noting that the fresh and unexpected GT does not take the place of the Velar. Rather, Land Rover is expanding the Range Rover family by adding a fifth model. True to its straightforward name, this grand tourer steps away from the traditional SUV shape with a lower, almost wagon-inspired profile. Larger than the Velar and with dimensions nearer to the Range Rover Sport, the new model presents a distinctive shape highlighted by a softly sloping roofline that feels unusual for the brand.

The GT stands apart from current models thanks to Land Rover's latest EMA platform. While it debuts as an all-electric vehicle, a full hybrid variant is planned for later. Detailed technical specs are still under wraps, yet its more road-focused design suggests it will offer less rugged capability than its Range Rover siblings.

As expected in a premium vehicle, the GT features frameless doors that open to an interior quite unlike those in other Range Rovers. Minimal conventional controls come as no surprise, yet it is refreshing to see the dashboard avoid being overtaken by a large screen array.

Although the initial images show a 2+2 seating arrangement, a three-passenger rear bench will also be offered for added practicality. In the four-seat setup, the rear seats include a center console equipped with cup holders, wireless charging areas, an armrest, and a dedicated screen for climate and media functions.

Additional highlights include a panoramic glass roof and generous rear legroom. The digital instrument display indicates 288 miles of range at 80 percent charge, a figure that may not stand out but requires official confirmation for accurate efficiency assessment.

Not all elements have shifted to digital. Steering wheel stalks remain, along with several physical buttons. Climate functions are handled through the central screen, a trend that is common though not always preferred. Overall, the cabin appears comfortable and refined, with Land Rover emphasizing a design meant to foster a tranquil environment in what it describes as the quietest Range Rover to date.

Production of the new Range Rover GT will take place in the UK, with further information expected soon.

Motor1's Take: The GT challenges conventional Range Rover expectations, and it is notable that it is not positioned as a Velar successor. The two models may share the lineup for now, though the Velar could eventually exit when the hybrid GT arrives. Land Rover seems unconcerned about overlap with the upcoming Jaguar Type 01, even if some observers feel the GT's grand touring nature would suit the Jaguar brand better.
