Subaru Australia has revealed new price cuts for its Solterra and Trailseeker electric SUVs, delivering substantial discounts as the company readies a third EV for the local market.

The Solterra lineup receives a $2000 trim across both variants, with entry-level pricing now at $61,990 before on-road costs. The Trailseeker, not yet released, sees a $4000 reduction, establishing a new starting point of $63,990 before on-roads.

These changes coincide with the pricing reveal for the upcoming Uncharted, Subaru's third EV for Australia, which begins at $59,990 before on-roads. This creates neat $2000 gaps between the starting prices of all three models.

Subaru Australia urges recent Solterra or Trailseeker order holders to reach out to dealers "for advice on how these updates might affect their orders".

Prior cuts had already dropped Solterra prices by up to $7000 heading into 2026, even after a significant refresh that added updated styling, enhanced technology, a bigger battery, improved range, and extra power.

This refresh mirrored updates to its Toyota bZ4X counterpart, whose prices fell by as much as $10,010. The entry bZ4X FWD remains below the base Solterra at $55,990 before on-roads, but the flagship AWD versions of both now match at $67,990 before on-roads.

Trailseeker reductions precede its June 2026 debut. Its top Trailseeker Touring aligns with the single-variant bZ4X Touring at $69,990 before on-roads, while the base Trailseeker now trails by a wider $6000 margin.

This pricing alignment marks a shift, as Subaru EVs previously carried a premium over Toyota equivalents - a pattern set by the Solterra's 2024 debut.

Pre-launch cuts aren't new for Subaru; the original Solterra dropped by up to $8000 in 2024, just before deliveries began.

Overall, the base Solterra AWD has fallen $16,000 since its late 2023 announcement, with the Touring variant down $15,700.

No powertrain alterations apply to either model. Both offer dual-motor AWD and a 74.7kWh CATL-sourced lithium-ion battery.

Solterra WLTP ranges are 566km or 517km by variant, while the bigger Trailseeker claims 533km or 488km. Solterra output is 252kW; Trailseeker rises to 280kW for a 4.4-second 0-100km/h time.

Cabins feature a 14.0-inch touchscreen, 7.0-inch digital cluster, dual wireless chargers - all Toyota-derived - plus a low-set squared steering wheel.

Subaru aims to lift EV sales via these prices, though Trailseeker figures are unavailable pre-launch.

Solterra managed 324 sales in 2026's first four months - a 376.5 percent jump from 2025 - making it Subaru's sole growth model this year.
