Three exclusive Porsche 911 models paying tribute to Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie from the Toy Story series have been purchased by a private collector for $3 million, with all proceeds supporting American charities.

The latest chapter in the animated series arrived in theaters on June 19 coinciding with school breaks across Australia, following the unveiling of the special 911s at the movie premiere in Los Angeles.

Far from static film props, the vehicles are fully operational Porsche 911s modified through the Sonderwunsch division in partnership with Disney and Pixar.

The buyer, who remains anonymous and highlights faith and family as key inspirations, pledged $1 million each to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the American Red Cross and Starlight Children's Foundation.

The distinctive 911s are making appearances at charity events throughout the United States and will be delivered to the owner during Monterey Car Week in August.

The collector noted that the combination of remarkable automobiles and the charities' support for families made the project an obvious match for their interests.

Passion for distinctive Porsches and charitable giving aligns closely with affection for Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the broader Toy Story 5 cast, the buyer added.

Collaboration between Porsche and Pixar teams to uplift others through creativity and resources proved compelling, extending the reach of the initiative and encouraging similar contributions from others.

The most striking example is the Buzz Lightyear-themed 911 GT3 RS finished in white with green and purple accents drawn from the Space Ranger uniform.

Its prominent rear wing echoes Buzz's extendable wings, complemented by white magnesium wheels, themed center caps and Goodyear tires marked with Lightyear lettering on the sidewalls.

The interior continues the motif using Pebble Grey leather, Arctic Grey Race-Tex, Violeta accents, green stitching and matching seatbelts, plus illuminated sills displaying the phrase To Infinity and Beyond.

Jessie is represented by a 2026 911 Targa 4 GTS in a custom Jessie White Metallic hue referencing the pearl buttons on her shirt, accented with Cobalt Blue Metallic, Atacama Yellow and GTS Red details.

The red Targa roof recalls her hat, while the roll bar script reads Jessie instead of Targa, and the cabin features Dark Night Blue, Bordeaux Red and Pebble Grey leather with denim-style trim, cowhide mats and illuminated YEE HAW sills.

Woody's car is a 911 Carrera T wrapped in a denim-effect finish blending Golf Blue, White and Dark Sea Blue to suggest worn jeans, with Coffee Black and Aurum highlights plus Fire Red Woody graphics along the lower doors.

Its cabin incorporates Speed Yellow inlays with red check patterns, brown vintage leather, Dark Night Blue leather, denim seat inserts, cowhide mats and illuminated Ride Like the Wind sills.

Porsche previously partnered with Pixar on the 2022 Sally Special 911 inspired by Cars, which fetched US$3.6 million at auction for charity.

This new set interprets the Toy Story personalities through matching 911 variants rather than replicating vehicle characters, assigning the track-focused GT3 RS to Buzz, the open Targa to Jessie and the driver-oriented Carrera T to Woody.

The project highlights the extensive capabilities of the Sonderwunsch program, which enables clients to order highly customized vehicles with unique paints, materials and details.

These examples illustrate the level of personalization available to dedicated Porsche buyers.

Unlike the Cars films, Toy Story 5 centers on the toys confronting a contemporary challenge to playtime from a smart tablet named Lilypad and is now showing in select Australian cinemas.
