The refreshed Polestar 4 SUV has received another preview from the Swedish manufacturer, with worldwide orders opening on September 2, 2026.

Shipments of this more usable version are slated to begin before the close of the year, marking the first time a model from the Geely-owned brand will reach Australia from its production site in Busan, South Korea.

Complete pricing and specifications remain under wraps, yet indications point to a setup mirroring the current Polestar 4 coupe range, which includes Rear motor and Dual motor options locally.

Polestar indicates the new 4 SUV can achieve as much as 630km of WLTP range in Rear motor form, while Dual motor editions deliver 400kW of output matching the coupe models.

This variant incorporates the same updates introduced for the MY27 Polestar 4 coupe, featuring a retuned chassis with notable suspension adjustments such as updated spring rates, high-capacity dampers and modified anti-roll bar configurations.

Alongside a revised steering calibration, these chassis modifications aim to deliver a more composed ride while enhancing both comfort and handling responsiveness.

The extended and taller roofline provides extra flexibility and everyday usability through adaptable cargo options for various trips. It also features a standard rear window, in contrast to the coupe which depends entirely on an HD camera-based digital rear-view mirror.

Earlier this year Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller commented on the upcoming model, noting it would once again establish fresh benchmarks for the brand.

Sweden holds a strong reputation for estate vehicles and top-tier SUVs, he explained, adding that the new model blends estate-like space with SUV adaptability and signature Polestar performance.

Although the Polestar 4 coupe reaches Australia from the Ningbo plant in China, the SUV version will come exclusively from the Busan facility in South Korea, which already supplies the coupe to other international markets.

This represents the first occasion the local operation has sourced vehicles from outside China, even as the larger Polestar 3 SUV is produced in South Carolina in the USA for certain regions.

The Polestar 4 lineup rests on the Geely Holding Group Sustainable Experience Architecture dedicated EV platform developed by sister brand Zeekr.

It shares its foundations with models such as the closely related Zeekr 001 electric shooting brake, the 009 EV MPV and the related Volvo EM90 offered in other markets.
