Overview

A compact crossover bearing the Maserati name must fulfill high expectations, and the 2027 Grecale largely achieves this goal. A twin-turbocharged V-6 comes standard, producing 385 horsepower in base form and 523 horsepower in the flagship Trofeo variant. Handling remains agile, though the steering could offer more feedback. An optional air-spring suspension delivers multiple drive modes, allowing the ride to shift from plush comfort to firm control.

Placing the Grecale in context involves looking at performance-luxury options. It does not directly compete with the Audi Q5 or Mercedes-Benz GLC300 but instead targets enthusiasts considering the Audi SQ5 and Mercedes-AMG GLC models. At its price point, the Maserati provides greater exclusivity, distinctive styling, and that premium badge appeal.

What's New for 2027?

Updates for 2027 include a revised front grille and bumper, a fresh dashboard clock, an updated steering wheel, and a new push-button gear selector with metallic controls. Additional features this year encompass parking assistance and a driver-attention monitoring system.

A new entry-level trim below the Modena has been introduced, still equipped with the 385-hp twin-turbo V-6. Fresh wheel options appear in 20- and 21-inch diameters.

Standard power comes from a 385-hp twin-turbo V-6 mated to an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The Trofeo raises output to 523 horsepower with the same engine family. Base and Modena versions feature conventional springs, while adjustable air suspension is optional on lower trims and standard on the Trofeo.

Ride quality stays compliant even in sport settings, turning especially smooth in Comfort mode. The vehicle handles with confidence and reveals its athletic side readily, yet the Porsche Macan edges it out for driver engagement due to the Maserati's less communicative steering. Corsa mode increases firmness excessively, resulting in a harsher experience.

First Row: Elegant cabin design blends premium materials with modern technology. A 12.3-inch digital cluster pairs with dual touchscreens on the center stack. Optional items include three-zone climate control and a head-up display.

Second Row: Typical passengers find adequate room in the rear seats, provided they avoid three-across seating.

Cargo Capacity: Cargo space reaches 20 cubic feet maximum. The load area behind the power-folding rear seats includes a flat floor and underfloor storage. Testing showed space for eight carry-on bags behind the seats or 21 with rear seats folded.
