The Leapmotor C10, the mid-size electric SUV that introduced the Chinese brand to Australia, is receiving a refresh.

Shown in China together with updated C11 and C16 SUVs, the revised C10 adopts a new front end inspired by the smaller and newer B10.

Leapmotor Australia has been contacted to confirm timing for the updated C10 in the local market.

There is now a split-level lighting arrangement, with a slim bar for the daytime running lights and vertically oriented headlight clusters positioned below.

Further cosmetic updates include new 18- and 20-inch alloy wheel designs plus a fresh Cloud Gold exterior paint, while Chinese-market examples will include the common turquoise lighting to indicate when a semi-autonomous driving system is active.

The cabin receives a new Sandstone Brown colour scheme and revised ambient lighting.

Leapmotor has not yet issued complete specifications for the updated C10, although the electric model now uses an 81.9kWh battery, up from 69.9kWh, while the extended-range electric vehicle version offers 290km of electric range on the CLTC cycle and 1300km total range.

The previous C10 REEV provided 210km of CLTC electric range, whereas Australian figures list 170km of electric-only range and 1150km combined range under the NEDC cycle from its 28.4kWh battery paired with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine.

The electric C10 reached Australia late in 2024, with the C10 REEV arriving early in 2025.

Earlier this year Leapmotor introduced a limited-edition C10 featuring a substantially upgraded powertrain.

Only 50 units of the C10 AWD Sports+ Special Edition were allocated for Australia, equipped with a 440kW/760Nm dual-motor all-wheel drive system instead of the standard C10 EV's 160kW/320Nm single-motor rear-wheel drive configuration.

The special edition also adopted an 81.9kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and 800V electrical architecture rather than the regular 69.9kWh pack and 400V system.

Despite the increased outputs and weight, WLTP range rose from 420km to 437km. A single-motor rear-wheel drive variant with the new larger battery pack would likely deliver even greater range.

Although Leapmotor enjoys strong popularity in China, C10 sales have remained modest in Australia.

Only 244 units have been delivered so far this year, representing a 2.0 per cent decline compared with the first five months of 2025 and trailing the BYD Sealion 7 (7786), Geely EX5 (4453), and Deepal S07 (435).

The smaller B10 has recorded 285 deliveries year-to-date yet remains behind the BYD Atto 2 (2919) and MG S5 EV (1427).
